Dept. of the Baths & Kitchens. While many of us end up at Home Depot for bath and kitchen hardware, you should always know where those extra special resources are for when you need them.
George Taylor Specialties is a small, family run shop, that makes its money not by being big, but by being the most reliable at what it does. George Taylor Specialties sells sinks, tubs, toilets, and fixtures that are both vintage and contemporary. They can help you match your existing vintage style and can even retrofit hardware at the machine shop on their premises.
We particularly like their collection of oversized showerheads on display in their window. One from Rohl is 12" in diameter and only $450 (they go up to "18)! Don't come here for low prices, come here for service and hard to find items. MGR
NYMag: ... a great source for sinks, tubs, toilets, and fixtures in both classic and contemporary designs.
Old-House Journal: For an industry where "you're better off replacing it with new" comes close to a mantra, George Taylor Specialties certainly bucks the trend ... by breathing new life into century-old faucets and valves.

We ordered a simple white porcelain sink from them a couple of years ago. We waited a full month for the sink to come in only to find a big old chip on it. A replacement came another 2 weeks after that with another chip. Six weeks and two more replacement sinks later, we decided to stick with our aluminum sink. We wouldn't have been so angry if the sales folks were at least apologetic. They weren't.
