Doctor T.J. Eckleburg's eyes were neon. Romance, drama, brawls....all of these things happen because of neon. It is actually small amounts of neon gas leaking out of neon signs and being inhaled by passers by that has attributed for historic periods such as the Roaring Twenties, and the tremendous success of Times' Square. Whether true or not, we couldn't help ducking into Let There Be Neon last week to ask the question we have been dying to ask for years, "How much does it cost?" The answer was less than expected.

We asked how much it would cost to get your wife or your new son's name emblazoned in pure neon and the answer was, "Around $250."

Let There Be Neon is one of New York's premier shops for light emitting signage, including neon, LED and cold cathode lighting systems. They fabricate everything and display all signage and clocks ($250) in their store on White Street. Open M-F 9-5pm.
