2004_9_9_frame.jpgFraming is a bitch. There is just no way around it. It takes a long time, it's not cheap and it is hard to get right. If you agree, we have some tips for you.

1. The best time to frame is during the summer months, as shops are backed up during the winter holidays.

2. Find a framer you like and stick with them.

3. If money is not the object, try this guy...

We have been tipped off to Steve Amedee. He is not cheap, but he does an excellent job and can be trusted to offer sage advice so that you get it right:

What sold me on him was his special attention to the white of the mat when framing black and white photography. He also gives you lots of info/advice about option son glass, mounting and backing, without it feeling like an upsell. Plus, he now owns one of the world's cutest dogs. And Steven ain't too bad on the eye, either...

We'll let you decide. You can find Steve Amedee on North Moore Street or at stevenamedeeince@aol.com. (Thanks, Patrick!) MGR
