Dornbracht is a German design manufacturer that specializes in bathroom fittings, accessories and furniture. What the collection lacks on affordability, it makes up for ten-fold with style. I found myself immediately drawn to their bath accessories and hardware that exude modern glamour with a touch of German masculinity. These pieces won't bowl you over with elaborate details or excessive ornament, but instead with the simplicity and quality of their design.
Dornbracht's faucets and sinks are the highlight of their collection- each aspect of the final product oozes modern glamour and refined elegance. Their newest pieces, the MEM Collection, the Domani .02 and LULU personify the design qualities Dornbracht holds dearest- modern simplicity married with restrained, but bold, color choices.
The MEM series is by far my favorite of their collection; the series consists of: faucet, bath and shower hardware, a towel rack, shelf, toilet paper reserve and various other accessories. Each piece is defined by graceful, modern curves with strikingly beautiful flat edges. The collection is near perfect in my opinion- it manages to negotiate the waters between simplicity and edginess without becoming overly masculine or harsh. This is a series that would fit well within both a modern and a more traditional (albeit not country or folksy) setting. The simplicity of the series allows it to exist as both an elegant design statement and a subtle addition to an existing bathroom collection.

Ooh, those are fabulous.
fixtures--mmm, very nice.
bright magenta bathroom--sorry, not for me.
Ah, come on, Sooj... You live in SF, a city that's always among North America's cutting edge when it comes to design. I'm sure you've seen your share of out-there bathroom designs--at restaurants and bars in the Mission, if nothing else.
Re: Dornbracht. It's funny. For me, ultra-modern German design speaks less to me than it did a few years back. And specifically these pieces, while stunning, seem overly "engineered" to me. I think for commercial uses, statement pieces like these are a fantastic fit. Not so much for residential (imho). Hmmm... maybe I'm just getting older and am liking "over-designed" pieces less and less--at least for the home. (Um, unless you are Brad Pitt or Lenny Kravitz.)
well, let me clarify: a bright magenta bathroom might be cool & fun if it were someone else's bathroom. but when it comes to my own place, where i'm going to have to live w/ it & look at it day in & day out, that's a different story. something that bright is just too much for me to face in the mornings...
I have ordered the Lulu series for my new bathroom. I love it's simple geometry! CLR
Check out the Helios.. very nice :)
