Kohler's Sok Overflowing Bath for Two

03.23.infinity.jpg

Flat top soaking. This infinity bathtub from Kohler, the Sok Overflowing Bath for Two is like an infinity-edged swimming pool. An overflow rim allows continuously moving water to fill all the way to the top and run over the sides.

The overall effect is very cool - it even has crazy lighting effects, called chromatherapy - but way indulgent at about $8,000. (via Charles and Hudson)

My neighbors upstairs have this. Even more impressive is the way it's filled, by a filtered column of water that falls from the ceiling and does not splash at all.

Oh wait. You can see that in the picture. TGIF.

I had a treatment in this tub at the Kohler spa and while it is amazing in design and style you are in it, it is a real pain to get in and out of it. Additonally, I thought the chromatherapy thing was pretty stupid (and has the same effect as looking at your thighs under florescent lights. . .ewwww!)

It looks like it would waste gallons of water. I mean, it's beautiful, but so indulgent. Does it recycle the water that spills over the edge?

I think AT:LA posted this a few weeks ago- check out the comments on that thread- apparently it does recycle the water-

It seems like you'd have to have quite the water heater to keep the water warm enough for a decent bath if the thing doesn't stop flowing. hmmmm... I dunno.

I bet the $8,000 price tag pales in comparison with the installation costs. And it would be a nuisance to clean!!!

The video says it was designed specifically to accommodate a man and a woman. I guess my husband and I are out of luck.

a bathroom is a nothing less and nothing more than a reflection of a refrigerator.
healthy and easy to clean...
just ask mother nature.

in the modern day world of apples and gravitational forces..haha.

My goodness! I just watched at Divine Design episode where one of these baths was installed. The chromatherapy is supposed to impart relaxation or be invigorating. Can't imagine that soaking in gallons of light colored water would really do either but it seems over-indulgent in most everywhere. On the other hand, it is very aesthetically pleasing.

That bath is as we say in Britain "Chavtastic", in other words only a footballers wife with her drawn on lips and stuck on nails would want one to show off to her friends...

Excessive conspicuous consumption of the worst kind!

Hi! I would like to know more about the seating in the background of this pic. A few weeks ago, I saw something just like that, but it was longer. Any help would be appreciated!
