Last week we featured the "new" living room decor on the retro TV show Mad Men. This week AMC's Mad Men website shares the favorite decor picks of Andrew Wagner, editor-in-chief of ReadyMade and founding managing editor of Dwell. Among his choices: a Saarinen tulip table and George Nelson Cigar bubble lamp in a Palm Springs mansion.
We admit to picking the second photo mostly because of dreamy Jon Hamm, a.k.a. Don Draper. (Who doesn't need little eye candy on a Tuesday?) Andrew Wagner likes the metal office door. Read more of Andrew Wagner's design picks from Mad Men on AMC's website.

I'm more about the MM clothes lately, like that dress the young bohemian chick is wearing in the photo above and everything Betty wore in this week's episode.

I second the clothes lust. I am positive I was born in the wrong decade. I prefer when covering up, not showing it all was, was sexy. Plus, it allowed you to indulge in good food and hide the aftermath with pizzazz.

January Jones is my eye-candy, she would look great in burlap.
That school teacher has a refreshing boho look for the era too.
But on the design front, I love the way they integrate avant-garde period furniture with 50s stuff, as in the shrink's office above. That small table looks like it is original, but sadly wearing the patina of age, it looks out of place.

There was an interesting interview with this show's set decorator a bit back about how she has to scrounge for vintage wares. The link is here: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=111894220

January Jones looked amazing in the last episode when she was in Rome, completely different look. Great scene

She was absolutely stunning in Rome. I mean, she's always stunning, but that was just over the top incredible. The hair, the makeup, the accessories, the clothes - spectacular.
What a comedown returning home must have been for her. No wonder she's so angry.
I also loved how her outfit in Rome hinted that we're about to hit the absolute pinnacle of '60s fashion and design.

God I love this show. Sometimes I save it for days on TIVO until I can give it my fullest attention. I love the clothes and I agree that this era in women's wear was the absolute best. I have pictures of my mom and dad from the 60's and she looks so beautiful and confident in her dresses with the cutests purses and my dad had the best suits and hats ever. I still have one of his hats that I sport on rainy days (I live in MIA - no real chance for hats here!).
