LOL, in the UK a WAG means "wives and girlfirends" for mainly professional footballers (soccer), think Victoria Beckham etc and is not a particularly complimentary phrase.

That merino sweater is adorable, but my 2 little furbabies prefer to wear sweaters handknit by their Mommy! If you can knit, dog sweaters are easy and good merino wool is inexpensive and can be found at such mainstream shops like Ben Franklin.
