Hot or Not? Level 5 by Paula Scher

1-8-big-ass-5.jpg

Our love for large number 5's and creative stairways come together in this installation by Pentagram partner, Paula Scher...

Does anyone know where this stairway is located?

It looks a little like the stairwell in the new museum on the Bowery. But I've only been there once, so maybe me memory is a bit fuzzy.

Smashing, fearless sans serif plus brilliant plotting out of the portion of the landing being covered with the 5.

This is awesome. I wish I could do it to our apartments stairs, but there's only three floors, might be weird.

Is this a "hot or not"? I don't see a place to vote.

Regardless: HOT. Super hot. I love Paula Scher!

HOT. Super hot. I love Paula Scher!

BTW: This is is at the Bloomberg Tower. Pentagram (where Scher is a partner) did the whole wayfinding system for the building.

It's in a stairway and it identifies the floor. Is this brilliant? Is it heinous to look at?

Exceptional example of whatever it is would be overstating it, I think. No middle choice. There doesn't seem to be any imposing reason to object to it.

LOVE it!
There is a door on a long ago renovated brownstone on west 95th street between CPW / Columbus that has a solid front door painted with the house number like this. Beautiful and striking.
Maybe it's Paula's home?
Been like that for 25 years since I have lived around the corner.
