ICFF 2008: Trompe-l'œil Ghost Wallpaper

2008-ICFF-NY.jpg Ghost Wallpaper from Georgian design company Rooms combines the fun of trompe-l'œil with a do-it-yourself, hand-drawn aesthetic. Designers Nata Janberidze and Keti Toloraia have captured an elegant and more-mature interpretation of Harold and the Purple Crayon...

While few of us will purchase Ghost Wallpaper, its design offers a jumping-off point for a do-it-yourself interpretation.

I think it's fantastic! I just wish there was a way to hide the seams, because I'm not so wild about that...

I've just had a brilliant brainstorm!

I love this too. Am moving this weekend and have been thinking of doing my boudoir ala Francaise.

This same look could be recreated using blackboard paint and real chalk (colored chalk, even!)!!! And then you could change the motif anytime by erasing and redoing!

And, Lisa from MN - voila! No seams!!!

Tahitianpearl - I had the same thought on seeing that wallpaper (which I also love). Very fun.

This is a fantastic idea for fixing up boring, flat bi-fold closet doors like the ones I have! Just paint on the details!

Wasn't this idea used in an Anthropologie catalog 1-2 years ago? Only I it was painted or chalked.
