Buff. We found Twenty Gauge through a friend who returned back home to NYC after a long sojourn in the Sunshine State. While we may like this kind of steel retro look, Californian's love it and the best shops seems to be out there.
Twenty Gauge HAND STRIPS all their vintage furniture and replaces all the upholstery themselves. They have a large selection of chairs, tables, desks, credenzas, file cabinets, lockers and one-of-a-kind items. They also custom build if you want something in different dimensions.
No prices on site, but they have a catalog and a full service phone line. They look good. Their web site is full and clear. They use environmentally sound products as much as possible. They ship often. MGR

Egads. I remember working at Boeing in Seattle 18 years ago and I had a desk just like this one and thought, "Unbeliveably, someday...people will think this is cool again." I finally understood why my dad didn't like my "antique" oak buffet with a mirror. The first time he saw it he said, "It looks like something from the *#%@^ Anacortes Hotel." No compliment.
isn't California (or Caleefornya as our illustrious governator says it) the Golden State?
to keep this on topic... ugh, yeah I like the steel finish but that orange is too much...
Seems like two jakes in williamsburg provides the same product http://www.twojakes.com/

I looked into this furniture extensively before I purchased from Twenty Gauge. They might not be the most inexpensive yet they have the best quality by far + Powdercoating is the only way to make the finish as strong as possible.
They also offer the absolute best selection and customization, custome design, hip colors, etc... Not the boring "stripped" office furniture a few others try to do.
I love my furniture, it looks amazing and it is almost impossible to scratch!
Paid or solicited nonsense is my favorite to pick on. "Powdercoating is the only way to make the finish as strong as possible." Who says? J.C.?
"almost impossible to scratch!" Who can say this?
You are not selling a tank than is bullet proof, it is a desk, or a file. Stop making it seem to others your finish is superior. The furniture is the same, we have more of your furniture in our shop than you even realize. We refinish a lot of pieces from Twenty Gauge.
