Nesting Material from Gaiam

We just received the latest catalog from Gaiam and found some items in side that were perfect for nesting month. Dippy clothing aside, this is a great resource for natural and organic wares.

Organic Cotton Sateen Sheets: Super soft, these 250 thread count sheets are dyed with low eco-impact dyes and come in six colors. ON SALE.

Rattan Sliding Screen: These funky screens come on a track that allows them to slide sideways as opposed to up and down. This is a good new idea, and particularly useful for some spaces.

Linen Shower Curtain: This is nice alternative to whites and silly patterns, and it also comes in a cool, rough stripe. ON SALE.

Organic Cotton Fireside Throw: These just look so good, even though it's sticky and hot out right now. We are definitely projecting.

Seagrass & Mango Wood Chair: Maybe this is too yoga/hippy of us, but a low chair like this just seems perfect for when you stay inside on the weekends and want a place to read and lounge.

Yes, I'm going to wave the IKEA flag again... They have an inexpensive sliding curtain panel system with a wide variety of fabric and treated paper panels; all of which are very similar to the sliding rattan screens pictured above. The panels are priced at $6-15 each. and the ceiling-mounted slider tracks are a few bucks each.

Also, love the seagrass/mangowood chair--but more for a covered outdoor area. (I know, not a practical application because of weather issues...)

Enrique beat me to the IKEA option, and I'll stand behind your flag-waving any day. Wait..

Smith and Noble also has a panel-track system in a variety of custom materials. It allows you to address sliding doors in a great new way and tie it into other window treatments in the same space.

The rattan sliding screens were on sale for $99 at Pearl River in NYC last time I checked - 5 panels on a ceiling mounted track. They look pretty good if you need that kind of thing.

You are all so quick! Yes, my partner and I have also discovered the IKEA version of the sliding screens: used them to cover up the washer and dryer in his CT condo -- previous owner installed machines that were too large to fit in the space with existing doors, and had left them exposed. The sliding screens work really well, and Ikea has a large variety of fabrics and colors -- a great purchase at a great price.

I wanted to love Gaiam, but I have to say I'm disappointed with all 3 of my orders from them. I bought a set of sateen sheets, I think in 'sand', but the actual color was sort of a greenish khaki, plus each piece was a slightly different shade, some more green than others. Some bleach spots have also appeared, although I have never put them anywhere near bleach. A 2nd order of pillowcases came in the wrong size, but I've been too lazy to return them. Does anyone need king size red pillowcases? The sheets however, feel very comfortable.

And before my sheets, I ordered that balance ball chair because ergonomics were a problem at my last job. I couldn't bear to sit on it anymore because it was giving me a sweaty rear end.
