Alternate Realities. This fits in well with August's "Escapes" theme. Houston-based designer Melissa Borrell's Fantasy Shades allow the owner a silhouetted glimpse of New York, San Francisco or the Umbrella trees of Rome...

The screens are beautiful in person. Made from serigraphed (printed) nylon mesh, they come 31.5" wide by 98.5" long. Custom images and sizes are available!

As part of an installation at the Mattress Factory years ago, a group called the Chicago Collaboration made this supercool set of window blinds:

The artists took photographs of the scenes outside the windows on a beautiful day and printed it on semi-transparent film and made blinds.....that way even on an gloomy Pittsburgh winter day, it is always beautiful when you look out the window.
