We selected Sears for our small NY City kitchen renovation and regret the decision. Our renovation began with the demolition of our great but dated kitchen on July 7, 2010. It is now December 7 and the kitchen renovation has not yet been completed. Sears has not had any project management oversight from the get go, the job was plagued by errors from their inept measuring -- cabinets were too large, doors would not open without scraping into adjoining cabinet doors, our refrigerator did not fit the space, our microwave did not clear the requirements of code and had to be scrapped. To this date, and five months later, we still do not have a completed kitchen. It remains a long-stalled Sears kitchen renovation. Outrageous, huh? We did not imagine this could happen to us, especially since we did our due diligence and thought we would be well taken care of for a basic kitchen renovation. Run, run!... while you can, and spread the word so you and your friends and family do not fall victim to Sears' neglect for details and unconscionable lack of attention, inept measuring and cavalier treatment of its customers and customers' time and resources. Run... run, while you can. After delay, upon delay and excuses compounded by more excuses, the Sears representative disclosed they were not equipped to handle kitchen renovations in New York City homes. Run, while you can!
