South-of-the-Border Retreat. As we pass the midpoint of Escapes Month the New York Times features the fabulous Mexican retreat of Susan Mead. The home in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico is spread across seven levels. Built in the 1930s, the home features four bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms...

We're glad to see the owner embrace Mexican art and style throughout the home and we love the courtyard that brings light and breeze to interior rooms!

I didn''t *love* the interior design of this house (altho I loved the house). Still, San Miguel de Allende has a powerful pull on me. I can't read an article without running to real estate sites and this article was no exception.
Why aren't I selling my apartment in Brooklyn and buying a home there for 1/4 the price? Why why why? Oh, right -- work.
