NYT: Napa Valley Art Cave

When your art collection takes over your home, perhaps it is time to build an Art Cave. In the recent The New York Times Magazine, Insider Art looks at the weekend home of Norman and Norah Stone and the addition of their own gallery-like cave. Taking direction from the number of local wine caves, the Stones were able to integrate their vast collection (including works by Donald Judd, Richard Serra, and Vito Acconci) into the landscape of Napa Valley...

Described as "refreshingly unostentatious" the 5,750-square-foot cave interior was designed by New York architects Bade Stageberg Cox. In addition to the cave, the Stones' home features additional artwork and large scale installations. Check out the slideshow for the full scoop.
