While New York City is being inundated with new residential buildings and development, the majority of the structures are rather bland and conformist. By standardizing living spaces, developers save money on materials and design while they maximize profit. Remaking the Condo With Light and Air looks at a new condominium development in Los Angeles designed by architect Lorcan O'Herlihy. The Habitat 825 building in West Hollywood has 19-units and even their own celebrity: Trainer Bob from "The Biggest Loser"...

Above is "Trainer Bob" Harper in his new condominium.

Instead of merely maximizing square footage, the architect and developer designed each unit to celebrate space and light and put an emphasis on design and uniqueness. In addition to large windows and atrium spaces, nearly every unit has integrated outdoor space. This is the kind of multi-unit construction we like to see!
