A Homespun House in England

Heart Home

Of all the myriad gorgeous homes I've seen, I always prefer the ones that look laid-back and welcoming. The kinds of spaces that seem inhabited by friendly, cool owners whose friends hang out there constantly. The lovely home of Canadian blogger Elisa Rathje perfectly fits that description.

The 17th-century home, located in West Sussex, England, is full of simple, thoughtful details, from vertically-stored serving plates to vintage furniture she restored herself. Rathje rents the home with her family, and everything works around typical rental challenges. An avid DIYer, she writes of their life there at her popular blog Apple Turnover. Trust me, between her writing and her house, you may well find yourself daydreaming about a new life in England.
