(This is Hirschl, who has lived in small apartments in Minneapolis, Berlin, and Chicago. He fully endorses Of Mutts and Men.) Of Mutts and Men offers dogs and their owners an indoor dog park alternative, appealing during unbearably hot, cold, or rainy days. Especially wonderful for dogs who live in small apartments, this large playground is a haven for a regular in-city getaway. Located in Roscoe Village (2149 W. Belmont Avenue), this dog park came to life by the efforts of trainer Elana Morgan. With a training ring for independent practice, you and your canine are free to make a disciplined day of obedience lessons out of it, or to just hang with the others. Shoot some pool, play a little chess, or arrange for a professional trainer or canine CPR course. People enter for free, but must pay a low $3 for a dog day pass. Monthly and yearly memberships are also available. Contact Elana with questions at 773.477.7171, or just show up with your pup. Has anyone been??
