One size does not fit all, especially for those of us who reside in very small apartments. When registering for our upcoming nuptials, my fiance and I found ourselves faced with all of the traditional options, which for the most part did not fit our lifestyle or needs. A 16 piece china set? No thanks. Our dishes are carefully pared down to the bare essentials. Here are a few of the (slightly offbeat) items that did make it on the list.
1. Camping and Hiking Gear
Kept in a storage unit when not in use, camping and hiking gear are perfect for the weekend when we need to get out of the city for a bit.
2. Cookbooks and Decor Books
Our bookshelf is one place where we like to indulge a bit. While we might not have room for all of the cooking extras, we always have room for a few new recipes.
3. Gardening Tools
Another weekend hobby. We keep up a garden in the yard we share with our neighbors.
We decided to start a record collection (I know, a little late to the party) and albums collected from our wedding will be a memento we can enjoy for a long time.
This one is kind of a long shot, but we would love a pair of bikes for getting around the neighborhood.
Are you a small space dweller who has recently tied the knot? How did you navigate the world of gift registries?
