Tip for Living Small with Kids: It's no secret every child loves their toys. In our home with 3 children, we like to keep toys under control by rotating toy boxes. We switch boxes every month to keep the kids interested in the toys. My children love to see what new toys are in the next box. This makes it easier to be in a small home with your children and their toys and helps our kids appreciate what they have without always asking for new toys.
Biggest Design Challenge in this Room: The biggest design challenge with the design of this room was choosing which curtains and style to use on the half circle window. I have seen many people naturally choose to hang the curtain panels below the half circle window. Which sadly makes the room and wall seem lower and smaller. To create the effect of a large grand wall and room, I decided to hang the curtain rod approximately 6-8 inches above the half moon window. Another decision I had to make was what color for the curtain panels? I decided on a simple white muslin cotton fabric and easily trimmed the panels in an adorable white pom pom trim to add just enough texture and interest.
Favorite Thing About This Room: My all time favorite thing about my little Boys' Vintage Style Room is the Unique Circus Wallpaper. But Surprise! It is not wallpaper. It is fabric, that has been simply attached and starched to the wall. It only takes about 6 yards to cover the wall and the fabric can easily be removed with water for an easy clean up. The little child characters and animals bring so much personality and life to the room to set a perfect background and feel of the Vintage Circus Inspired Room.
Thanks for your entry Kaylee and good luck!
