Name: Karen
Location: Athens, GA
Child: Daisy, 11 months
Inspiration: Daisy's name was my inspiration. My husband was a bit taken aback when I told him we couldn't pick out a paint color until we had decided on a name. I had different color schemes based on the different names I had chosen. The name Daisy just begged for a bright, lemony yellow with punches of lime green and orange.

Tip for Using Color: If you can't find it make it (or ask someone else to). I had a specific idea of the art I wanted in Daisy's room. Because I made many prints to go in her room, I was able to choose the exact colors I wanted. I hid something about a daisy in each print - a picture, a line from an Emily Dickinson poem, a song lyric. At the time we were keeping Daisy's name a secret from our families, so it was fun for me to drop these little hints in the artwork.

Where's the rocking chair from?
It was Daisy's great-great-grandmother's. It is so neat to think about that history when I'm rocking Daisy in it (even if it is 3 in the morning and I wish I was in bed). Thanks for looking.
I really love your window set up, its so cheerful! Where are the string duckies and the floral arrangement from? :)
That's a wonderful yellow. I want to paint my daughter's nursery yellow when we get one (we're house hunting right now, she's in our bedroom for months anyway.) I'll have to check out that shade. I love the white furniture--I prefer white baby furniture--and the duckies are great. I wish there were more photos allowed, I'd love to see more views of this nursery. (BTW, I love the name Daisy, I thought about it for my daughter.)
Perfect yellow!
Thanks, all, for looking.
Kim, the flowers are from Land of Nod and the duckies are made by Rich Frog.
Pencils, I also wished more photos were allowed! I'm not very good at editing out pictures. I do have a Nursery set on Flickr. My user name is Kage2008.
Thanks for the lovely comments!
What a gorgeous room!
