Name: Megan
Location: Kansas
Children: Lauren, 13; Scott, 10; Sean, 8; Talby, 6; Annie, 3
Inspiration: Children's books are full of color and beautiful art. I used the illustrators art as the inspiration for this room.

Tip for Using Color:
Neutral walls keep the room light so you can use punches of color in fabrics and furniture.
Colors Used:
The wall paint is Antique white. The furniture is all from flea markets or thrift stores. The fabric on the curtains is by Free Spirit Sole. The duvet is made from Target sheets.

I love the red letters - where did you find them?
This room is so sweet. I love the map. If I could have a map in every room I would, but my husband would kill me.
This room looks like it came out of a magazine. I love all the furniture and everything is put together so well. Great room!
This room looks so cozy and comfortable - well done!
LOVE this room! Way to represent Kansas!! (live in OK now, but born and raised in Kansas).
what a fantastic room - love it!
I love this! It's eclectic and everything just fits so well together. The best entries have definitely been saved for last. I'm getting so much great inspiration as I work on my daughter's nursery.
Um, I live in Kansas too. Can you come decorate my house? Gorgeous stufff... magazine layout ready, and it looks like you didn't break the bank.
I love this room, best so far in my book... har har. I love that this room is not matchy matchy and has a lived in theme, not forced at all! Where did you get that fabulous rug? Is it homemade?
The best room so far, i agree too... lovely colors.
Such a warm and inviting room that feels like a child actually lives in it. Great job.
I LOVE this room! I think I'll use it for inspiration for my guest room :) We just moved in our first house, and the walls had just been painted a neutral khaki color - we havent had the means to paint each room yet - but this gives me hope that I may not have to and can dress up the rooms in other ways!
oh...and can we see more pictures, please?? There are just too few here!
this room is AMAZING. i love it.
favorite things: the adorable lamp and the fact that i now believe my fuddy grandma-y chair may have a happy home sometime in the future.
I love that you were able to create such a cheerful, vibrant room without adding bold colors to the walls. This is a fantastic example of creating visual interest with bedding and accessories - great for those that can't or don't want to take on a painting project!
Love this room! The bed looks oh so cozy, and like the perfect spot to curl up and read or take a snooze. Great job!
Whose room is this? You listed four kids but didn't specify whose this is.
Nursery tour, please!
I have the green polka sheets and am using them for a quilt backing. Needless to say, I love all the textiles you've used.
Lovely. Thanks for sharing.
very nice! I love the furniture! I agree a tour is in order! I would love to see more!
I LOVE this. What an incredible eye you have and I love to see creative rooms with a mix of pieces and colors. You've done that so well. More pics please!
Beautiful! Fantastic use of colour!
I love that this looks like actual stuff people would have in a house, rather than a magazine spread that isn't meant to live in.
I agree with eeka!
I love this room!!!
I had been planning on doing my toddler daughter's new room in a salmon color to really get some color in there, but I think you've inspired me to go neutral on the wall paint and bold on the accents and fabrics! Thank you!!! And congrats too!
Love this! I wish this was my room!
