Name: Sharon
Location: California
Child: Peter, 14 months old
Inspiration: Having spent the decade prior to our child's birth traveling the globe, we were fortunate to see all the wonderful shades of green nature offers. We wanted to be reminded of our adventures while providing a youthful, yet sophisticated version of this lovely color. Also, we did not know the sex of our baby, but this shade of green seemed so fresh, that it seemed well suited to either sex.
Tip for Using Color: We decided to only paint 2 of the 4 walls in green, to provide an adequate balance to the vibrant green. That decision also made it easier to bring other colors into the room decor.
Colors Used: Benjamin Moore Aura, Stem Green, 2029-40

Shaw's Original Fir...
How great that you were able to incorporate travel in a kid-friendly way with the prints above the crib. Where did you find them? Also, the lamp with giraffe sticking his head out the top is the cutest thing ever.
I love that Jonathan Adler giraffe lamp. It's adorable. I hope Peter never knocks it over!
Where did you find the animal silhouette picture? I would love that for my son's nursery.
I love this room. The artwork is perfect. I especially love the window treatments. Great job!
Did you use the book sleeves from the 'This is London' series or are those prints?
Hello Everyone, Thanks for all your compliments! The art above the crib are the jacket covers from the M. Sasek series that my husband very carefully folded into frames that we ordered from an online DIY website. The animal silhouette picture has a special place in our hearts, as it is a limited edition that we got directly from Michael Schwab, the artist who did the Peet's Coffee posters. We bought it before we even thought about having a child, put it in storage, and then after countless hours scouring the web for the "perfect" artwork, stumbled upon the Schwab piece in the basement! Peter loves saying the different animals names now, which is great! The window treatments were handmade with Serena & Lily fabric and I wish you could see the matellese detail in them. Thanks again and please vote for us!
