Ohdeedoh Kids' Color Contest

Name: Ali
Location: Eugene, Oregon
Children: Simon, age 6 1/2

Inspiration: Everyday life is really the inspiration here. Simon's room decorations have been added to over time starting with the Pottery Barn Kids planet mobile (found on eBay), followed by the thrift store yellow shelf, and the recent addition of the Ikea star lights. I like white walls and feel like they invite lots of other colors to be at home in the room.

Tip for Using Color: Colorful is fun but it can be overwhelming. Choose one or two accent colors that anchor the space. In this room the red wood boxes spread out over two shelves and the light blue art pieces in conjunction with the map and the globe lend color consistency throughout the room.

Colors Used: Wall color is basic white. Red wood boxes from Fred Meyer. Baskets from Target.
