Oliver's nursery came to me while driving by a garage sale and seeing the largest, ugliest yet coolest lamp I had ever seen with a Mama Owl and Baby Owl. That $5 purchase grew into what Oliver now calls home.
While it wasn't easy to find baby boy nursery items in the color palette of grey, orange, and blue, we really love how it all came together. Living in a home built in the 1920s, we wanted to honor the character of the room, and instead of hiding or masking the character, slants, and nooks, we embraced them! We couldn't be happier with the result!

I did my son's room in grey, orange, and blue about 18 mos ago...and I'm Megan, too. And Oliver was the #2 name on our list! Wild. LOVE the colors in your room, too.

I'm assuming you painted that owl lamp....I only say that because my family had that same lamp in our house when I was growing up! Weird. I'd totally forgotten, but as soon as I saw it, I was like, WHOA! Crazy. Small world.
I probably would have completely ignored that owl lamp, just like I tend to pass up all the other weird lamps I see... but now you've inspired me. I think I'll hit up some yard sales in the morning!

Wow! So.... I followed a link from a friend's Pinboard to Apartment Therapy (which I LOVE) because I saw the name 'Oliver' and the owl lamp. We just had a little boy named Oliver too! He will be 6 months old next week. :) Also, we did a woodland themed nursery (still a work in progress), and we live in Ohio! Amazing!!! It would be so much fun to meet up sometime! :)
