Name: Olive (3)
Location: Norman, OK
This room is used for a bedroom/playroom, and we needed to use the space wisely. I wanted it to be light and bright giving that there would be a lot of furniture in there.
We painted the walls Innocence by Benjamin Moore to open up the space. The chevron rug is from Rugs USA and helped to transition this space from baby nursery to toddler room. The MALM twin IKEA bed was a perfect fit. Olive's bedding is a mix of modern and antique. The pink quilt was make by her great grandmother and quilted by my sister-in-law. It's a treasure. The red kitchen is form Pottery Barn Kids. It's a bit large, but it is played with daily. The dresser is IKEA with Anthropologie knobs.
We moved here from Brooklyn, New York, so the print on the dresser reminds us of our favorite city. All of the pillows are from IKEA, Target, and TJ Maxx. Most are ones we already had and just mixed them up in her room. We have loved creating a space that is light and bright for our daughter. Mixing modern with family treasures and bargain pieces is the best part. Her room is a mix of all of that and we love spending time in there.
Thanks, Heather!

White Enamel Flatwa...
Wow, what a change that must be for you coming from Boston..
Anywho...the rooms is lovely and all the handmade items are surely a treasure as you mentioned. But I must admit, that red kitchen is kick @$$.
I love the butterfly mobile over the bed - so pretty, looks DIY (do tell). I'm a big fan of chevrons for kids, to help bring a modern graphic edge to a kids room, and to help make it look less little-kiddie. Lovely room, love the red quilt.
Beautiful. Congratulations on creating such an inviting space.
What a pretty and fresh looking room you have created for your little girl! The black and white rug works so well and makes it all come together. Lovely and inviting... I also very much like the blue colour on the walls and the three framed photos. Will be saving this one for inspiration!
