Do you remember Olivia and Emma's warm, eclectic, shared bedroom? Well, these girls are growing up and were ready to move out of their toddler bed and crib. Their mom Jeannette loves to put her personal stamp on her home and their new fabric-covered castle bed is her latest masterpiece.
The girls, living in Stockholm, Sweden are now 6 and 4 and were ready for bigger beds which also frees up more floorspace for playing.
Here's what Jeanette told us about the project:
The girls were longing for 1. a bunkbed and 2. a castle-like format of the bed. I had some ideas, bought a simple bunk bed from Ikea, some wooden boards, textile and paint. Due to the limited ceiling height, we had to remove the bed legs to fit it under the sloped ceiling. I painted the wooden bunk bed in red, sketched a castle silhouette on the wooden boards which my partner then sawed out, fastened the textiles with a stapler and several hours later the girls appreciated our efforts with great joy!
