I had a friend buy the Frey clock for me because he lives in Dallas, TX where they have an EQ3 store. I was pretty disappointed once I received the clock because it does NOT look like the picture. The metal is a very light color, not dark/gunmetal like the picture. Also, the hands of the clock are actually more like a rust orange instead of the bright orange that is shown =\
I really want to like EQ3. I really do. They have some really innovative designs. They choose some great patterns for fabrics. However.....It's junk. Their chrome has ripples, their fabric bunches, and their veneers pop. We have one in Phoenix right next to ikea and eurway. Everytime I goto one of these stores to shop I stop in at EQ3 hoping that their quality has improved but am quickly disappointed.
I've been to West Elm and don't think that a comparison to EQ3 really matches up. We have an EQ3 here in Ottawa, they set-up shop just a couple of years ago and all of the used furniture sites online are already full of their crap.
I wish wish wish that West Elm shipped to Canada - sadly, they don't.
Thank you for these above comments. I have been eyeing a couple of EQ3 items but knew nothing about the quality. The items look great in the catalogue, but we all know that doesn't mean anything...

To confirm what dmancini said, I have their Hugo sofa in dark charcoal, and while it looks okay, the fabric on the sofa cushions bunched up within a few months at most. Unfortunately, the seat cushions aren't removable so I can't flip them over or even replace them.
I probably won't buy anymore sofas from them but I'd consider buying their Milo Storage Cocktail Table and also their Nest Chest in walnut which I've seen in person.
