Contrary to, uh, ABC's Brothers and Sisters, Pasadena does have a lot more to offer than a family of chatty Cathys invested in organic foods and wineries. But...I have to admit that this show is one of my guilty pleasures — but not for the story lines. What lures me to the television set Sunday nights is all those fantastic interiors! This season, I've been paying particular attention to Rebecca's new apartment: Unlike the other homes that look like they were decorated on large scale budgets, Rebecca's starter digs seem the most realistic for her age and career. Well, almost realistic--it is a show after all. Take a peek at some of photos of Rebecca's apartment while I dig up sources for similar items and inspirations from her place...
Rebecca's apartment seems fairly small: The front door opens directly to a narrow-ish living room that flows directly to the kitchen with just enough space to squeeze in a small dining table and chairs. Her patriotic motif of red, white, and blue feels very Pottery Barn / Ralph Lauren--classic Americana with just a few girly touches.
Her farmhouse-style front door has a simple Roman blind in red hanging behind the window panes. Similar curtain: Ikea's Melina Roman Blind, $19.99
A red bordered sisal runner rug separates the entryway from the living room area and creates a direct path to the kitchen. Similar rug: Pottery Barn's Color Bound Sisal Rug Runner (2.5' x 9'); $129. The catch-all basket by the sofa: Pottery Barn Magazine Basket $69. Red sectional (similar): Crate and Barrel's Miramar 2-Piece Sectional in Tomato $3,098. Paint (similar): Benjamin Moore's Sailor's Sea Blue with Swiss Coffee trim. Coffee Table (similar): Target's Brooklyn Coffee Table, $99
This may not be the most flattering photo of actress Emily VanCamp, but do you recognize that pillow she's holding? It's Porridge Home's Aqua Ethnic Stamp throw pillows! You may remember Porridge's creator Laura Stang-O'Dell and her husband Jason welcoming us into their home for a House Tour last year.
Dining Bar stools (similar, painted a light yellow green): Ingolf Bar Stool with Back Rest, $59.99. The Dining Set looks like a vintage 50s chrome table and chairs that pop up regularly on Craigslist and/or eBay.

The problem with the roman blinds on teh front door is that they look crappy on the other side, no?
if the family's well off, stands to reason they give her castoffs. seems heavily furnished for a starter place.
my first had a new futon, a $17 trunk from Gold Circle, and eventually beige Martha Stewart curtains from Kmart. A year later i added a ludicrousley small dining table from IKEA with no chair. a milk crate was the tv stand.
Very nice! But what I REALLY covet is Nora's house...
For a laugh, please feature Jill's renovated apartment on Real Housewives of NYC. In a recent episode, Betheny said that if she were to spend a weekend alone in the apartment, she would feel as if she had taken a hit of acid. (The show is my guilty pleasure - it's on during my husband's teaching night; I do the laundry and watch it while I'm folding.)
I have to agree about Jill's apartment. It makes my husband crazy that I watch that show--but it is a train wreck--I can't look away.
that so called telling of from the new wife to bethenny was hilarious. who is that woman supposed to be, and what is with her Carrie Bradshaw sartorial choices?
My favorite interior on Brothers & Sisters is Sarah's bungalow.
I have a very similar color in my living room... and a red sofa and while trim. I think red and white/cream are very natural compliments to this color.
I do like the place, but all those damn curtains and draperies are a giveaway that it isn't a starter place. I say this as i stare out my bare windows.
I love Rashida Jones' house in "I Love You, Man." She owns some sort of interior design shop in the movie. It is so well done.
help me find those long curtains in the front room!
Hi, i'm not sure if you can help me at all - but I was looking for a picture of something that I think I saw on the B&S set a few years ago, but can't for the life of me find anything about it. I think it was when Rebecca first moved into her apartment, she had an olive/moss chesterfield studded headboard for her bed in her room. I was hoping to recreate this for my house but would love something to work off and not just memory. if anyone could help it would be much appreciated.
