I don't understand One King's Lane AT ALL. Who buys from them (obviously some people do since a lot sells out)? All items are non-returnable! How can you properly tell what the color of upholstery on a computer screen?
It's one thing to buy a dress from a flash sale online and stow it in a closet if I end up hating it. It's another to spend $2K on a rug I end up hating and having to find a place to store it.
Even more of a turn-off is the fact that some designers offer the items that didn't sell on One King's Lane on their personal blogs for CRAZY STEEP discounts. Their original mark-ups are absolutely insane.
One King's Lane is interesting to look at but I doubt I'd ever take the plunge and buy something.
I won't shop at OKL anymore. Been burned too many times with a bait & switch. Boycott OKL!
urbancricket, really? I'd love to hear details?
my personal experiences with One king's lane hasn't been that great. First all, orders take too long to arrive..it took them more than 3 months to send some small home accessories I ordered.
2nd of all, their prices are still too high for the stuff they sell in my opinion. They recently had some kind of closing out sale of items from Brimfield antique show and i was astonished at how much they were charging for the similar stuff I bought for much less from the exact same show. same with the other made in china cheap lookingish home decor items...i can get the similar stuff from my local discount stores like TJ Maxx for less.
I love OKL. I received four boxes today and everything was fantastic. For me, the prices are great - and I check the internet before signing off on an order. The wait IS long, but for what I'm saving I think it's worth it. The one time an item arrived that wasn't as represented (cake plate had an angle that would have sent my cake skittering to the floor) I received an apology, a credit AND I didn't have to send it back - so I scored a cake dome! True -prices on tag sale items are way above- but those aren't the sales I pay attention to - I'm an 11am girl. Chances are if someone's admiring something in my apartment it came from OKL, eBay or Craig's List - hard to pay full price for anything anymore when we've managed to create a home on the cheap with these resources.
