Today's One Minute Tip comes from shop owners Kasey (and Jordana) Henke, curators of a new vintage living handmade co-op in Des Moines, Iowa. It's the first in their series of videos about how to repurpose antiques and farm items for your home.
• The Star: Kasey and Jordana Henke bid against each other at an auction in rural Iowa a few years ago, and life has never been the same. Since then they got married, had two kids, and started having sales on their farm which eventually led to a farm store and Etsy shop called "Rescued Junk." This month they opened a "Vintage Handmade Co-op" in Des Moines called "Silo."
• The Music: This song is called "Who's That" and is an instrumental version of an even cooler song off the album "Honest Mistakes" by Pete Miser. The full version is available for listen and purchase here.

Nomade Express Slee...
All I wanna know is... who won the auction, Kasey or Jordana? : )
it is 2012, if I click "play" on a video it should play in the existing web-browser. This website/blog is sooo super lazy - learn to use web-techology and stop waiting my time having to do multiple clicks to see a single link/article/video.
@ ericastle: Not sure what browser you are using, but I'm using firefox and an currently watching the video in the existing browser....no problems here, likely it's actually on your end.
nah @Island_monkey, ericastle is right, what he means is that clicking the video on the home page should play it on the home page not take you to another page to have to the same action again. I would guess that the website is based on wordpress and it is *super* easy to play videos on the home page using wordpress.
i am using google chrome and i watched the video right here, didn't have to go anywhere, and one click was all it needed. and it was in glorious HD even :D
sweet!
yes @Dunne10 if you come to this page it's fine. But not from the AT homepage... clicking the video there, brings you here.
but that goes for reading *all* articles on AT, you have to click *read more*. how (and why) should this suddenly be different just because the entry contains a video? you can't watch a house tour just by clicking on the main picture either. at least you skip one process by being able to watch it one this page rather than opening yet another page ;)
Whiners!
Well they shouldn't make it look like a playable video...
Hi guys!! Thanks for watching our videos, and I'm sorry it's a pain to have to click through to the actual post - it's actually the only way we can track how many people are watching, because if we just embed the video directly into the page, it doesn't register that you have opened the post. Thanks for your patience - it's really helpful for us to know how many people watch each post so we can track them. Feel free to email me with any more questions! Rebecca@apartmenttherapy.com!
:)
I'll wait until the glitch is fixed to watch videos in future. sorry, it's a pain.
First off, great little How-to video, and this couple is adorable. I'm absolutely going to do this. Second off, I'm on an iPad and it played right on this very page so either it works for some, and others not, or they fixed whatever it was that was making people so upset. First world problems!
This is a cute idea but my first thought was that the rust on the wire would get on whatever paper you stuck in its coil. Fine for things you're gonna toss anyway but not so hot for photos and other mementos.
Some wire is dark in color. I'd go with that instead. It'll look old but won't mess anything up.
Oh, and P. S., your link to their Etsy shop goes to a Facebook page, where I read that they "might be re-opening" their Etsy shop. Just for your information.
I just discovered Pete Miser via this video clip. THANK YOU! Great idea to point out the music details. :)
