Sandbox. If being back in the office isn't quite comfortable yet, and you can't seem to get the sand out of your shoes, then you shouldn't miss Pilar Viladas little snippet of an article in this weekend's NYTimes Magazine: A Narrow Escape...

Featuring a relatively small beach house (by Hampton's standards), this minimal, modern home is 88 feet long and 31 feet wide with stunning views of Gardiners Bay. Designed by Frederick Stelle (with Michael Lamont) it's like Philip Johnson's Glass House, but on stilts.
We particularly like the heavy use of wood amidst all the glass and concrete, as well as the cozy and eclectic MidC Modern furniture. This is a high end version of the little salt box by the sea.

Okay, let the modern glass box bashing commence!
Considering the gambrel-roofed cedar-shaked monstrosity he could have built on 5 acres in Amagansett, this is a wonderful use of the land. This is absolutely envy-worthy! I'm sure he gets some wonderful breezes off of the bay.
Looks like this is so far out of our price range that we're all speechless.
