OneLessDrop Power Cord Anchor
• $25.00
• Heckler Design
We've reviewed a few of Heckler Design's home office accessories in the past, both big and small, and now they're back with their smallest solution for home office organization bliss. A solid hunk of recycled aluminum, the OneLessDrop puts an end to dropping or losing power plugs for the MacBook, iPad, or iPhone off the desk with a dual anchor design; the top groove keeps cords in place, but can be easily removed, while the second slot holds cords more permanently. Nice to see a Kickstarter project come to fruition.

Nomade Express Slee...
I thought these were great ideas - was about to make the plunge on a bluelounge sumo a few months back. Then I looked around my desk and found that many things we have in our homes can be used to achieve the same effect. For instance, my brother gave me a small stone carved elephant as a souvenir from India. Wrap your cable inbetween it's legs and there you go - a nice catcher for a cable, and a reason to keep the trinket.
one of the large binder clips.. http://www.staples.com/Staples-Large-Metal-Binder-Clips-2-size-with-1-Capacity/product_831610 can do the same job.. easy and cheap..
if you hang them off the back of a desk they are nearly invisible.
right now i have one holding cords for chargers, as well as keeping usb cords in check..
Hi folks. Dean Heckler here. Thanks for your comments.
There is absolutely more than one way to skin this cat.
The idea behind OneLessDrop (introduced on Kickstarter in January 2011, and shipped August 2012) is to use them primarily in living rooms, bedrooms, and guest rooms, to hold mobile phone, tablet, and notebook power cords.
Unlike an office or home-office environment, in the living room and bedroom, you may wish to solve the cord-falling problem with a more esthetically pleasing solution. In many living rooms, plastic nik-naks, sticky tape, office clips, and misappropriated momento's are not welcome.
yeah, I second the binder clip (colored if necessary). 60c vs. 25$? any time. cables aren't pretty to begin with, even with a nice red cube.so I'd want to hide them anyway.
I have all my cords(n=3, ipod, phone and e-reader) in one large binder clip (next to a semi-universal charger) and can plug in whatever I need to charge.
Although a binder clip can hold all the cables and seems like a better buy, I replaced all my binder clips with one less drops for two reasons.. 1 the one less drop is heavy... Not like a binder clip or those plastic cable drops... It has the weight to hold a few cables on its own without extra help. Second it is not ugly...it just seems weird to spend 1600 on a computer and accessories that match but have a ugly binder clip holding my cables... Is it a little spurge?.. Yup... Absolutely but I can't tell you how nice it is to have everything on my desk match just so...
I feel like a DIY reproduction of this could easily be made with sculpy/clay (possibly disguising a weight inside).
