Have you ever wished there was a way to get in touch with more people in your neighborhood? Do you want to branch out a little and meet a few people in the surrounding blocks that you might not get to know otherwise? Well then OneTwib is the website for you!

OneTwib aims to connect neighbors and residents of every area across the country. It wants to be a one stop shop for communities to communicate with each other when they might not have reason to otherwise. Sure you see certain people everyday at the coffee shop and your kids might play basketball with so and so a few streets over, but most people really don't know much outside of the people that live in their building or on their block.

Although OneTwib is a free registry site and you run the risk of creepos wanting to get a little closer, we're pretty sure there's other ways to do so (Craigslist Personals anyone?). We like the idea of being able to send out a mass email about a block party (without flyer-ing every billboard and car windshield in town) or possibly even starting up a book club or racquetball game with folks near you. Our technology drives us all indoors and people don't sit on front porches and stoops or attend as many local events, forcing us to get to know each other, so in our book, this is a win and it will be curious to watch it take off.

OneTwib is brand spankin new and although there might not be anyone on the map in a city near you (there's rather slim pickings in the Midwest), it might be worth registering or keeping an eye out a few months from now.

Do you think it's a site you would use? Or do you think it's a sign of the times when people just can't knock on their neighbors door? Let us know below!
