When thinking of new and inventive ways to design your space, don't be constrained by boring old walls. Take a lesson from these sun worshipers who've taken their love of the great outdoors all the way to the toilet.
Granted a lot of these pictures come from hotels and villas in exotic destinations, but they're still a great source of inspiration. So grab a towel and a bottle of shampoo, and make sure your view is hidden from the neighbors.

Bath outside? Sure!
Shower outside? Okay!
Pee outside? ...uh...
I love #2, #4, and #7
But I'm with RQ, I draw the line at the outdoor toilet.
Peeing outdoors is one of the many reasons it's great to be male. :)
There are certain things I don't want to see my neighbors doing, and vice versa.
There's something romantic about the idea of taking a shower or bath outside, but romancing the idea of taking a dump is impossible. If someone can do it I'll give them $100.
This is the second post I've seen with an "open plan" bathroom. First it was the toilet in the middle of the hallway, now the middle of the great outdoors--with wallpaper and everything. I feel like Rip Van Winkle. Was I asleep when we all started doing our business in public??? That's gonna take some gettin' used to.....
errr...no. Definitely not.
these outdoor rooms are great in the right setting. makes me excited for warmer weather!
poo with a view!!!

Outdoor blumpkin.
I love outdoor showers, but i draw the line at plein-air toilets. I'd rather pee in the bushes.
This is like a friend of mine who happily announced he was removing the door to his bathroom. No more peeing there ever again for me; too creepy. Doors are very very good for some rooms of the house, and the bathroom is one of them.
As a little girl that went camping with a bunch of boys, I was always so jealous that they could pee outside and that they didn't have to worry about tp. I've gotten over that as an adult, but I think it would be awesome to have an outside bath. I'd want some privacy, cause I live in a neighborhood, and I REALLY like bathrooms #4, #6, #7, & #9.
Thanks, most, I learned a new word. Which I wish I didn't know.
yes to the shower and bath tub, no to the toilet
Ooooo...the visual after looking at the first photo. It ain't pretty!
In the first photo, with the trailer - where does all the ...uhhh...blackwater go? Most RVs have space in the underside for holding tanks for the fresh and the waste water, but there doesn't seem to be any such space in the bottom of this one. I highly suspest it is a setup for a photo shoot and that none of the fixtures actually work.
Forget the neighbors and your own general shyness - in most parts of the world, if it's warm enough to do the doo outside, it's warm enough for flies. They're not shy about anything when it comes to powerful attractants.
When I have occasion to release solids outside, this fact is pointed out in a rather graphic (and decidedly unromantic) fashion. Flies - today's buzzword.
Yes, I saw that episode of Scrubs.
Wow, these comments are entertaining! :) I think the idea of a bathroom being outside has a certain appeal- it definitely takes you out of the normality of bathroom design. I especially love the bathtub.
