One of the most lamentable aspects of having it all in the twenty-first century is that with so many gadgets, doohickeys, and thingamabobs, we often unwittingly discourage children from using their imaginations. A lightbulb went off when we spotted this open concept playhouse on Finnish designer Jenni Juurinen's website.
It could not be more simple, which is what we love about it. From one minute to the next, it could be the children's reading area, their shop, their house or a fire station. For more enclosure, you could easily cover the walls and roof with fabric, and then remove it on whim. A weekend's worth of work for a lifetime of memories.
