With open loft spaces all the rage these days (and for good reason), more people are taking down walls than they're putting up. All is well and good until you need to make room for little ones and we're madly in love with this built in bunk bed system that not only works for a child's room, but also for a guest bedroom as well.
This bedroom from Slifer Designs found over at Houzz is a great solution for those with lofts and raw spaces in need of a little privacy. Sure it's great for kids, but it's also pretty awesome for adults as well.
Maybe you're living in a live/work space and need a bedroom or are trying to build in guest sleeping quarters in a small space where having your own room isn't in the cards. This option boxes in a corner and gives it that rustic modern vibe with it's rough exterior and soft linens inside those pretty little curtains.
Do you love the idea? Would you enjoy spending the night in one of these pods or do you think the idea is best left to the kids? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

White Enamel Flatwa...
Reminds me of cupboard beds in old dutch houses! I always wanted one of those growing up.

I like them. Not sure I'd want one for good, but if I were on vacation or otherwise away from home, absolutely.
My husband's fraternity house had these in the bedrooms (one enclosed bunk/ room). They really feel like sleeping in a coffin. Not that I would know that. I've only heard :)
I like it a LOT. Seems like a good multi-kid, loft, cabin, guest room solution. If I was on vacation for a couple days, I wouldn't mind staying in one of these at all! Looks kind of cozy!
I love the look and the concept. It's a great use of space. The woman with the question about bed or sofa should see this. The only caveat might be the difficulty of making the beds.
If I were a kid I would be crazy crazy in love with this. A couple of thoughts. First, even though kids don't fall out of bed, the lack of a bed rail up top makes me nervous. Second, bunk beds with this kind of steep ladder are not for the very young.
But honestly, this is the kind of thing kids love, and it is done so well!
I love the look of them, but it seems like they'd get awfully warm in there.
I like this A LOT!!! I would use a sliding panel instead of the curtain. I would put one in my office, it would make my cat naps easier.
Fun, but it would be very hard to make the bed. I would need a Wallace-and-Gromit-style contraption to do the job for me.
I'm with @thicket; what may be cosy to some may be oppressively stuffy to others (especially on the top bunk).
a-FORT-able!
Haha, my kid just saw a picture of this type of bed, with doors, and said she wanted one :)
I would have loved one as a kid, and I still wouldn't mind one. It would work well in a very small home.
What, kids don't fall out of bed?? Mine has.. But luckily not from very high.
Ha! I slept in beds exactly like these at a hostel in Edinburgh...the privacy was nice, but as a young adult, a little inducing of claustrophobia. For a kid, though, I bet it would be a fantastic hideaway.
Like these idea as a kid and still do. COZY!
Love it. Seems cozy.
My daughter has always wanted one of those!! When she was 5 she said that she wanted a bunk bed just like that. She is 10 now and she still bugs me about it.
At first I thought, "Awesome!" and then I thought, "Here in Australia? Spider based death trap."
