Hey, anyone here??

Anyone have any recent residential window cleaner recommendations? None of the companies I've used in the past seem to be around anymore and the listings here on AT are pretty old.

Looking not just for our own apartment but for the whole coop (40 unit building in cobble hill) as most of our neighbors have expressed interest in having theirs done too, so I'm heading up the project to get everyone taken care of at once (or over the course of a few days)

If you have someone to recommend, please advise on their rates. We've never paid more than $15 per window (as of 18mos ago) and even now I wouldn't expect to pay more than $20 per window for just one apartment. I'd obviously assume we'd be getting a better rate for contracting a company for all or or most of the building's windows to be cleaned at the same time.

Does anyone have good recommendations for piano movers? I had a REALLY BAD experience the last time, and would like to avoid that again!!

Hi, does anyone know if it is possible to rent short-term (2 months), very inexpensive cubicle/office space in Manhattan? A coffee shop, etc, is not suitable for me: I need it quieter and more desk space. I do not need any amenities (secretary, internet access, etc). I just need quiet, clean desk space. A cubicle would be perfect. A proper office would likely be too expensive.

I need a sleeping solution for my tiny Brooklyn guest bedroom which is 8.5' by 8'. I had a chair size futon in it that was fine for guests to sleep on but now I have moved into my guest room fulltime because my ailing mother has moved into my bedroom for the forseeable future. The futon mattress is killing my back and the fact that its open everyday is messing with the ethnic/colonial vibe I had been going for in the room ( think brightly colored cushions and drapes, captains desk, sisal rug).

I would like to find a very narrow daybed (33'' by 72''-76'') for a more comfortable, stylish and permanent solution but have had difficulty finding this anywhere in my aesthetic or price point ( $500 or less) on Craigslist, Worldmarket etc. The closest thing I have come across is the Diamond Ikat Floor Cushion and Floor Platform at Urban Outfitters http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/urban/catalog/productdetail.jsp?id=14965073. The quality at Urban Outfitters doesnt inspire confidence based on reviews on AT. So I was wondering if anyone has experience with the floor cushions or platform? One thought was to buy the platform and maybe source the cushion elsewhere. Suggestions for where I could get something with a similar look would be appreciated.

we're renovating our bathroom and are thinking of a vessel sink on top of a wooden vanity, all from Duravit. I've been googling this and can't seem to find a conclusive answer.

Are there issues with wooden vanities and water damage or are they treated with some kind of finish to prevent water damage and marks left by toothpaste bottles and soap bottles?

If you are buying Duravit you are committing to the highest end bathroom furniture and fixtures. Chances are that their veneers and high pressure laminates are highly water resistant. That said, they are not water proof and should be wiped down I would imagine.

Honestly, I'm just giving my opinion here but I would suffice to say that if you are going to pay a premium for such a product you should have piece of mind that it is both highly designed and highly functional. While I cannot speak for the specs of the Duravit cabinetry I would think it's quality should be on par with it's porcelain which is about the highest quality you can get.

Help! I am pretty much clueless about undertaking my remodeling. I need to renovate 2 bathrooms and a kitchen for under $26,000. The bathrooms are each 5' x 6' (tiny) and kitchen is about 10'.5" x10'.5". I am hoping to do this as green as possible.

Neither me or my husband are handy (didn't seem to get that gene) so need suggestions about where to start and if I am being completely unrealistic about the price since we won't be doing any of the labor. Welcoming all ideas and suggestions on how I go about getting this done! THANKS...

For green options, I would suggest checking out GreenDepot. They have suggestions for floors, cabinetry, toilets, paint, etc.

I am looking to renovate my single 5x6 bathroom and just for labor alone the quotes I'm getting are between $14k-17k. I'm still interviewing contractors in the hope that I can do my bathroom under $20k. Does anyone know how much a gut bathroom renovation involving replacing tub with shower should cost for labor and demo?
