I've been looking at using these wall coverings from Inhabit as a pseudo-headboard

I'm just worried about their sturdiness if I lean back on them. The website says they feel like 'hardboard'. No idea what hardboard is, a hard board? Cardboard? haha Anyone have any ideas on the durability?

Hard board is a pressed composite of wood fibers and glue (under high temperatures) that is used in construction. I would wonder about the "feels like hardboard" part though. Velocity has a 800 customer service number. Perhaps calling them would give you enough information. Cool idea to use them as a head board though!

I recently bought my first home, and I'm looking at paint colors, and I'm sure this question has been asked here before, but I'm looking for a perfect, brilliant, bright, modern, icy white. A chilly white, with no trace of softness, no trace of yellow or cream colored undertones. I've spent hours pouring over Benjamin Moore paint chips. Apparently, they've got over 100 shades of white. I'm starting to go a little batty, trying to distinguish between, "chalk," "superwhite," etc. So far, I like "snow white" and "decorator's white." Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

So you basically want a lightly blue white, right?

The light in your home is going to have a huge impact on how it reads on your walls. You wouldn't believe the amount of time we spend looking at white paper to pick out for print jobs at the agency where I work. It'll totally change from room to room based on the type of bulb you have in there. -Just a happy tip.

--Anyway, you want to go to the blue side. That'll offset the yellow from the light bulbs. I hope that helps some.

The Jellyfish lamp, though a great piece, doesn't really read "modern" to me. Contemporary, yes. Modern, no. As for the "natural" -- well, yes, it does strongly resemble a jellyfish. But to my mind "natural" doesn't mean representative. It means using natural materials and natural colors.

The Harris Marcus lamp seems a bit too cold (the metal is really the desing focus of the piece) for your "natural" theme, but it is modern with a hint of contemporary. At least, that's how it feels to me. It's a bit too fussy to be strongly modern.

The Lumalight seems to be the best fit for "natural modern". The paper -- natural -- dominates the texture, but the shape is definitely modern.

Without seeing the rest of your space, I'd go with the Lumalight.

thanks moryse heron -- i ended up finding one on overstock.com. cheaper than the rest, so i won't feel guilty when i get sick of it in 5 years and move it from the living room to the basement. found an 'animal shaped' rug at either potterybarn or ballard, but decided to go 'on the cheap'

because i looked it up on behr's website by number and name and it doesn't come up. i think this color would look WONDERFUL in my bedroom and i've been having such a hard time choosing paint that will look good with my dark trim - and this is the first thing i've seen that i think will look perfect!!!

I live in a vintage condo building (1891) with only 9 units. We want to replace the ugly plastic apartment intercom in our unit circa 1980s. Does anyone know a good place to get one online or at retail. We are looking for a more mod or retro stainless steel one if possible. We are looking for a 5 wire apartment intercom station.
