Yesterday while perusing one of my favorite family design blogs, Young House Love, I stumbled upon an incredible room built from the studs up for four young girls. The parents actually decided to take a wall down in order to make one space for all the sisters. A mammoth project - all was accomplished in just ten days.
Shannon and her husband made or altered every last thing themselves. From the custom built in bunks to the storage drawers on casters to semi-hacked Ikea Malm dressers, each piece is customized exactly for the space. Shannon even sewed mix and match bedding with personalized silhouettes for everyone. We love the striped ceiling and the fresh sea green and coral color palette.
Oh, how I would have loved to have grown up in a room like this!

Shaw's Original Fir...
Awesome! *ALMOST* makes me want to have 2 more girls so that I can do something similar. I said almost.
Oh my god this is so cool. That being said, my three sisters and myself would have had epic horrible battles if we hadn't been separated into smaller groups of two. Hairbrushes would have been thrown.
Well, I'll be darn. I'm firmly anti-bunkbed but the built in sleeping cupboard vibe with stairs is really nice. I might even consider it (if I had four kids). Love how it is like old dutch or british sleeping nooks...perceptive choice!
Positively adorable! I think it's a wonderful way for the kids to share space and interact, while having a place of their own. Well done!
