I like everything in that first room except for the brown. It's one color too many.

My living room is orange with pops of yellow and green, and lots of wood. I love how cheerful and cozy it is - and everyone who visits says the same thing.

You can get some idea of the variety of oranges by looking at the produce section in a groceries store: pumpkin, tangerine, bell pepper, carrots...some are autumnal and others are summery.

All of these rooms have a lot of white in them.
I have orange walls in my fmaily room with a lot of blue (between a royal and a navy blue) and white, including blue and white pottery and blue and white IKEA drapes, and a blue futon. Works great together!
we painted our daughters room orange to transition from her baby room of yellow. lots of people had their own reservations but she (we) love it. as an alternative to "i'm a girl so my room should be pink" its modern and bright. of course she has her pops of hot pink throughout - so its girly but still fun & youthful. Go orange!
We have just moved to NY from Sydney and are embarking on decorating our apt from scratch. The main pop of colour will be orange so i'm glad that you have posted this as i now have lots of inspiration. I wanted to put a blue with it but wasnt sure it would work - this has changed my mind.
