Purple, orange. This time of year, we love the pair. And done right, they hit it off big:
From that dark, moody room pictured first to that great tangerine and plum bias pillow by Modern Thread, the pair works whether muted or bold.

Commercial Flour Sa...
So rock and roll. I love it!
And if done wrong, it looks like the home of a Batman villian!
My sister actually used these for her wedding colors a month and a half ago. It looked AMAZING.
This is my favorite color combination of all time. I have it in various forms all over my house. Can't get enough of it.
@QueenOfTheFall: I enjoyed that!
i took a lot of guff for this, but the orange/purple scheme played heavily in my like of this movie set:

Funny you should mention this. I'm currently working on some label designs and one of the color combos I'm leaning towards is a purple and orange. Thanks for making me realize I'm not nuts after all!

A friend of mine has huge purple and orange cushions on her sofa and it looks most awesome! I lovvvve the colour combination.
Purple and orange in sunny rooms may give the feeling of parts of India or Mexico.
These were my wedding colors, too - nine years ago this weekend! My bouquet was orange roses, purple freesia, coxcomb, waxflower and hypericum berries.
I did use it BoddiceGoddess (incidentally, she's my sister)! Deep plummy/eggplanty purples and light/bright oranges look so cool together. And they still looked super romantic.
Our bedspread is mostly oranges, so we really want to paint the room dark purple too.
The trick: make sure it's a purple that reads red. More eggplant and less MN Vikings.
@lupinelle: we did basically all purple except for the flowers. We used orange roses, calla lilies, hypericum (red-orange berries), and orchids. It was fabulous.
The only flowers that weren't orange were in my bouquet. Everything I had was all white.
@bepsf: MN Vikings are purple and gold... and it's more of a bluish purple. This can work, but I still think it looks more elegant when it's a reddish purple.
