It's the first full joke lots of kids learn how to tell. The old knock knock staple that hits you over the head with "banana" until you reach the end, and thankfully, finally, hear an "orange". And, while we have nothing against banana-hued rooms, today we're all about adding a little citrus of a different sort …

I recently painted my entryway Eastern Amber by Behr. It reminds me of a mango lassi drink. It's a great contrast with our vintage-style gray-and-white tile floor, and it's a nice hit of warmth when you come in from the cold. I did the ceiling in the same color, to de-emphasize unevenness where the walls meet the ceiling. I love orange!
I'm really impressed by the orange ceiling in the House-Wide Cabinet of Curiosities. They ran out of wall, so they set their sights higher [/pun].
Srlsy, tho, I <3 orange. I painted two walls of my office BM Carrot Stick, and I always feel energized looking at it.
Oh, yes, please....!!!!!
Orange is that kind of color that could seem unlikely in most cases... until you actually live with it, and it becomes addictive!
My kitchen is Sherwin Williams Mandarin, and I absolutely love it. Particularly on grey days like today!
This space is really very charming.
I appreciate the vibrant colors. The bed is so very wonderful.
Thank you for sharing your home and DS for writing about it

Our bathroom is done in the unlikely color duo of moss green & bright orange -we took our inspiration from the IKEA "Ethel Rund" shower curtain we have. Basically the green serves as a neutral backdrop for the bolder splashes of orange. (The walls are a light lemon yellow -almost cream.)
I like orange, but like the "gray and orange color combination" post, it's not like it's novel (to AT, anyway), so I don't know why ppl write as if it were. And re: while we have nothing against banana-hued rooms, today we're all about adding a little citrus of a different sort
Kind of a weird statement, since banana is not a citrus (or am I mistaken?) Did you mean to say lemon?
No.
The orange ceiling strangely works for me. But the kitchen countertop is my least fave. But the best one is the last.
That chair in the picture looks like it's in a little bit of disrepair...
Orange!!! My favorite color.
I like the countertop and the chair the best. And the bedspread.
I like the ceiling, too, but don't think I could live with it. It would make me agitated.
My kitchen walls are orange. It is the sunniest, happiest room ever. Thank you for sharing more orange inspiration.
I'm a big fan of orange and we use it a lot in my home. My entry wall is "Spicy Tomato" by Dunn Edwards. It's a gorgous color...and a tomato isn't a citrus either!
LOVE orange! I just blogged about it a few weeks ago. http://hellothisisanna.blogspot.com/2011/02/orange.html if anyone's interested :)
i love orange, especially a chinese red. it's the new nuetral!
Laguna Dirt, I was going to say that orange is the new red. :-) I painted my bathroom "Sharkey gray" (a Martha Stewart color) in a Behr paint+primer concoction to provide a foil for the slate tile and cherry cabinets (very warm earth tone colors). And then I found a butterfly print from VintagePrints.com with orange, green, and a gorgeous not quite turquoise blue. I grabbed a bath towel in every coordinating color I could think of and brought them home.... the deep rust-orange won out, along with an extremely unlikely blue, brown and rust paisley print shower curtain. The result? *stunning* and totally unexpected. Orange is my my new go-to red for the unfolding color palette in our home.
...mmm, Orange is our national color, but that's where it should stay; stuff you pull out once a year for a good soccer game. Other than that I'm just not a big fan, at all....Sorry!
i loved orange...until it seems that everything is now that color. i think it works best as an accent - an unexpected surprise here and there. i don't care for walls and rooms painted that color, but to each their own.
I like certain mid-range oranges very much, but even those can dominate a small space. I like orange best with green, yellow, and white. I don't care for darker, pumpkin orange, and never understood the popularity of combining orange and gray.
my living room is painted in African Tulip from ICI Dulux. it faces east and when the morning sun peeks in, it looks like the sunrise exploded in that room.
i LOVE it!
My kitchen should SO be a part of this post!
