We're perfectly content getting our daily weather forecast online via the Firefox browser add-on, Forecastfox. But there are plenty of our friends and family who still rely on broadcast news or newspaper forecasts for their daily weather report. Instead of getting them a new bonnet, buggy harness, or USB butter churner, we think this Oregon Scientific Weather Hub might be a worthy "bridge technology" for the luddite set, offering a 12 to 24 hour forecasts with graphical icons, all wrapped up in a friendly form factor that even earned an endorsement from O at Home magazine... From the reviews we've read online, the Weather Hub is perfectly proficient at daily weather forecast, but is really just a gussied up electronic barometer (change in air pressure equals a storm is a brewin'). But still, at $20 online, it's not a bad gift for the parents/grandparents, and there are reports of $7 clearance prices at Target, making these worth the hubbub. [via Charles & Marie] -gregory
