Don't be deceived. I order this bedding as an alternative to the Anthropologie bedding that I fell in love with. The color and quality are quite a stretch from what's in the photo. I returned mine, like with most things, you get what you pay for.

So pretty! I know that the part of the appeal is supposed to be that it's organic and unbleached, but I think I'd find it even more attractive in a crisp white.

Reminds me of a cheaper version of a coverlet from Garnet Hill I've been coveting for months. Not sure if I trust the quality of the West Elm one though.

I think its stunning and almost had an impulse purchase. But I would probably be disappointed in the color sjdesigner because I want the color in the picture. Sad :(

I almost made an impulse buy too, but after reading some of the comments I changed my mind.

Is it just me or is all this one color, texture thing coming back. I love how in the second room pictured there are all these different textures of white fabric..

I own this duvet, which I love. It's close to the color in the photo, perhaps with a bit more cream to it. Which is to say, it's not a blazing, teeth-aching white.

I paired the duvet with a similar colored lightweight woven blanket and high thread count coffee-with-milk colored sheets. (When I say "I" I mean "My Boyfriend". He has insanely refined bedding instincts, so with a new mattress pad (I joke with him that the memory foam is NASA approved), the layers of soft colors and textures, and the West Elm duvet, our bed is four star hotel worthy.)

To speak to the quality issue: as someone who shops at West Elm only for their accessories due to the shoddy quality of much of their furniture, I don't think I'd get West Elm sheets. However, since a duvet is a top layer, I didn't mind that it wasn't sateen-soft. After you wash it the first time though, it is really nice and I have no complaints about the quality.

And finally, I love that all the corners inside the duvet have little ties so you can affix your comforter to the duvet to hold it in place.

I've had this duvet for a couple of weeks now and I am really happy with it. Right now I am looking at the picture and looking at the duvet on my bed and I honestly don't see a big difference at all. I guess maybe it is a little more (very light) buttery than the image but the difference is minute. Perhaps because it is organic there is going to be some inherent color differences from piece to piece?

Also, I agree with Nesser that after it was washed it was much nicer and a great deal softer.

I have the Eileen Fisher seasonless silk comforter that from Garnet Hill that people have mentioned. I put 3 dollars a day in a jar for 4 months to buy it. I think it used to be a little cheaper, or maybe I cheated I can't remember. Either way I love, love, love it.

I prefer this duvet to the painfully shirred look of the Cirrus. The woven headboard is awesome, and really works well with the duvet. I thought wedding dress, too.

I bought this for the apartment we're moving into next week. I saw it and Anthropologie's Crowned Crane in catalogs the same day and checked them both out in person. I was expecting to love the Anthro one more, both b/c it's so much more expensive and b/c of the guilt I feel whenever I go to that store (don't like the owner), but in fact much preferred the West Elm version. The color is as pictured. The Anthro one has wooden buttons at each gather, in different primary colors. Didn't like.

I have this and love it as well.. but goddamn did it take forever to iron!

I just bought it and am returning it. Very disappointing. I fell in love with the pictures, but in person it did not nearly look as luxurious.
