Using interesting shelving can introduce color and pattern into your space as well as keep you organized. As you can see from these inspirational photos, courtesy of Singapore's Home & Decor magazine , shelving comes in all different shapes and sizes. When choosing shelving it's important to consider what it is you wish to display. A combination of open and closed shelving can help organize both things you want to display and items you don't. Even a small shelf can work wonders when organizing small spaces. If your budget only allows for low-budget shelving, consider tailoring the unit with paint, vintage wallpaper or stencils.

Office in the bathroom is bit odd.
The shelves used in the first 2 pictures, are those custom or available for purchase anywhere (hopefully cheaply)?
The shelving system in the banner photo is cute but will drive my little OCD head nuts.
Currently pulling out the shelving units I installed last spring in my tiny house. After 10 months of looking at all that visual clutter I scowl every time I walk past it, and just want it behind closed doors again and my plain old wall space back.
Maybe an art poster, a little shelf with knick knacks, makes me sigh with relief just thinking about it. Think hard about whether having all that stuff at your fingertips is worth how visually busy and dominating it is.
Where are the shelves in the first two pictures from?
The shelves in the first picture are from MDF Italia ("Random" Bookcase)

the 1st two shelves are custom made to fit the heights of the houses here in Singapore. most of the apartments here have some custom work done, and then we buy furniture to fit the rest of the area.
for the fifth pic, it's actually a clear glass panel separating the bathroom from the room. and the apartments here are so small, we have to sometimes fit a small work desk in our bedrooms. and to visually enlarge the room size, we use glass panels for the bathrooms. though i personally think it's ridiculous because guests sometimes have to use your bathroom. haha.
How is #5 an illustration of vertical/tall shelving, again? There appears to be loads of unused negative space above the shelves. I'm confused.
