We love Orla Kiely's designs. When a collection of her products began selling at Target, she became much more popular in the US. Not knowing much of where all the creativity happens we were surprised to see the decor of her office.
We like all the natural light and color. It is much simpler than we would have imagined. The bight green IKEA cabinets and the custom made yellow chair go great together. We love seeing all the books and her own pattern designs all around. The mannequin with Orla Kiely's fabric on its face is somewhat unusual and a little weird, but the coat is amazing. Olive, Orla's dog is adorable.
We came across her office on Morning's Light. To learn more you can read the original article on the guardian.co.uk website.

the dog cracks me up, what is he looking at?
I love it becasue it looks like someone actually works there. Sometimes you see amazing offices but they look like they are never used or they would not be functional. This looks pretty "normal".
I love the mannequin!
I wish the Ikea PS cabinet still came in that green color instead of just red or white. I would definitely snap 1 or 2 up then.
I was just flipping thru some old Elle Decoration UK magazines from 10-12 years ago, and one of the issues was highlighting the premiere of the PS cabinet as a stellar new budget design piece of that year.
Time flies! Looks like the PS cabinet is still a good classic buy. The other great thing about it is that it's made of sturdy metal, which means it lasts longer than the particle board/veneer stuff that riddles Ikea.
Yes, the PS cabinets were the very first things I noticed! Glad I snatched one up about 8 yrs ago (in red) ... still using and loving it.
I think the dog thinks the mannequin is weird looking too.
Do you suppose Ms. Kiely just had the white PS cabinets painted green? Or was it always available in that color in Europe? I totally covet them.
lolax,
What about buying one and spray painting it. Krylon and Rust-Oleum both makes some paint that they claim will bond to pretty much anything. Just an idea.
The mannequin is neat; it reminds me of Daft Punk.
I'd go mad if I had to store books on the floor like that, though.
it's a really nice office, it looks like the type of place i'd like to work at. Found a cool orla video on the web, and thought i should share it
