You may be planning your Thanksgiving decorations, but I'm already mapping out my Christmas glitz. Here's one of my 2009 must-haves: a mini-version of Crate & Barrel's window ornament display. It's a genius way to display treasured ornaments, especially if your tree is overburdened &mdash or, if you don't have a tree at all.
Even if we have a tree &mdash and we haven't decided on that yet &mdash I think I'll get this for my small collection of gold ornaments from the Danbury Mint.
I appreciate that it allows ornaments to be placed in other pockets of the home, besides the tree. Ornaments on a dresser, kitchen table, or bookshelf would be beautiful.

I got this as a gift last year and LOVE it! It's so sleek and simple- a great way to display some of our extra-valuable, extra-special, or extra-heavy ornaments! I like that it isn't inherently seasonal too- I usually keep it up longer after Christmas (displaying some of the crystal ornaments).
Really? I saw that on the CB website yesterday and really don't like it. It looks like it belongs in a shop window displaying ornaments for purchase. Just feels too cold and contrived for me.
I bought four of these during the after Christmas sale last year. Got them for a steal and the ornaments are green and red. I also bought one for myself....can't wait to use it!!!!!
These are also sold at the dollar tree in black. With a little metallic spray paint, you can duplicate this guy for a lot less than $50!
I like it. I think it is a bit expensive, but it is a great way to display special ornaments, or to add cheer to a buffet or sideboard without using candles.
I suppose it is too much to ask that the Christmas posts wait until the day after Thanksgiving...
@JG: People shop the day after Thanksgiving...don't you think some people might want a few suggestions before then?
Way to criticize the poster, geez.
yuck.
They have this at Dollar Tree for $1. I agree with jaims; buy one at Dollar Tree and spray paint. MUCH LESS than this C&B piece.
Maybe it's the chrome or the shape, but this just looks really cheap to me. I think people who are interested should take the advice to save $49 and get one at the dollar store.
I like the concept more than the execution. I can see putting something like this on my desk at work perhaps.
What I really like about this is the ornaments.
