We discovered Johannesburg-based Willowlamp through a link in the New York Times Travel section this weekend and immediately fell in love with their elegant creations which transform the simple ball chain into something exquisite without saccrificing its punky, industrial roots.
Willowlamp's two founders, Adam Hoets and Sian Eliot, have an architectural and jewelery design background respectively, which comes as no surprise since many of the chandeliers resemble a gorgeous pair of dangly earrings that we'd happily wear in a heartbeat. The Times article says that the chandeliers can be found hanging in several Johannesburg restaurants and their elaborate, yet unfussy, design does seem well-suited to a commercial space, but we would love one of the simpler designs to add some edge to our bedroom. Visit www.willowlamp.com to see more of their work, inquire about pricing, or find a dealer in your part of the world.
