Launching in February at Bloomingdales and his boutiques, fashion designer Oscar de la Renta's 100-piece tableware collection is inspired by his Punta Cana vacation home. Carved teak flatware and bowls, saturated colors, and silver plate sea life are meant to bring some island flair to any table. To that effect serving pieces come with some of De la Renta's favorite recipes.

Shaw's Original Fir...
Exotic wood sounds so Oscar. We love his designs and are seeing de la Renta vintage everywhere.
There is a certain charm to wood bowls. I have a friend in Calabria. When his mom makes a particular vegetable soup (with squash blossoms!), he insists on eating it in a wooden bowl. He said it tasted best that way.
